Dear Fandom

Plot-What-Plot does not, under any circumstances, mean Characterisation-What-Characterisation. Nor does it mean Dialogue-What-Dialogue. Please stop sacrificing characters for the sake of a sex scene, it's tiring and sad.

Oh, and the word smut is a bit gross.

Love,
Katie

Dear World

I don't think we're on the right track, but since my political views are strong and might cause offence, that's all I have to say.

Love (mostly),
Katie

-----------------

Dear Sports Stores,

Turkey did not make the World Cup. I know it's shocking and hard to understand, but guess what? Australia did. Please stop stocking Turkey national memorobelia and start stocking the Green and Gold.

No love,
the whinging bitch over in the sports department

-----------------

Dear bladder

I could really, really do with a full night's sleep.

No love,
Katie

------------------

Dear World

Me again.

The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction and in the end, in the Grand Scheme of Things, no one but the Catholic Church and Dan Brown really cares. Please stop flooding me with Tom Hanks news, and how the critics hate it. People are going to see the movie, anyway.

Love,
Katie

----------------

Dear Paul McCartney

The media had nothing to do with the break up of your marriage. I love you, but did you really, truly think that would ever work? Seriously?

Lots of Love,
Katie

Here, have a slice of Word Pie. And since (as you well know) I could say so much more on this topic, I will leave it at that for now.

Yes, but I'm still going to cheer at all the bad reviews, the same way I'm cheering because MI:3 seems to have tanked. . :-P

*hugs*

Heeee, look at you with your lovely icons.

I'm going to see the Da Vinci Code. I'm really looking forward to it. Does that make me a bad person?

(I know it's probably awful - the book was awful(ly written). But it's a fun kind of awful.

LOL I don't think your taste in movies makes you a bad season... I want to see it, too.

Mags has a more academic, knowledgeable aspect to not seeing/reading it.

And it doesn't make you a bad person, either. I think I'll blame Embo for calling you a season ;o)

Oh, please. I hate it with every scrap of irrationality in my body. I just know how to spin things so I *look* like I'm being knowledgeable about it.

Best not ask if you fancy a quick skeg through 'The Anniversary' then? ;p

Oh, and the word smut is a bit gross. I feel the same over the usual euphemisms employed in that genre for 'doing it', LOL. Might be just me or my generation, I suppose. I also heartily dislike the word 'snogging'. :D

Oh, don't even get me started on "snogging". I've decided I'm actually not very partial to Og words... am not keen on Sprog, either LOL

If you wrote it, snookums, I'll read it.

Hey, history lover and woman with a university emphasis of study in European history (which includes extensive info on the history of Christianity/Catholocism - cause it's all intertwined). Mags, let's talk. :)

Loved the book. Sorry, Mags. But I did. Hated the writing style, but as his point got across and the plot was quite engrossing, I'm not fussed about overlooking that deficiency.

I'm franticly trying to find a sitter for this evening so I can drag poor husband out to the film and make him stand in line for a seat.

Paul McCartney, on the other hand, should have known better than to marry a woman old enough to be his Daughter. For shame, Sir. Have you no sense of decorum in your old age. I know Jagger doesn't, but you have more money/fame than he does. And you write catchier tunes. It's ok to grow old. I promise. Next time, find some adorable thing in her fifties or sixties. You'll be much happier.

Poor bladder. Sorry, no rest for the weary for the next year at least. Although, that 'lustbucket' icon may very well be appropriate for you in another month or so. The third trimester can be SO much fun. Or, is that too much information? ;)

*giggle snort*

Unfortunately--and I hate to say it--she's right about the sleep thing, Katie. Sorry. :( Although in a bit, it won't be your bladder waking you up; it'll be the baby instead. I personally find it easier to accept the baby waking me up than I do my bladder.

But...she's also right about the other, which can be quite nice. (I know, I know, more Too Much Information :P)

Woo Hoo, Aggie!
Lets here it for the happily married women of 10+ years. *snerk*
Now all we need for her embarrassment to be complete is a testimonial (tastefully worded, of course, lol) from Wamfom.

I'm wondering why you think a woman who's been married for nearly six years, and is pregnant, is embarrassed by the idea of extra-fun sex? :oP

And I have it on good authority (don't I, Julie?) that Wamfof can't tastefully word his way out of a wet paper bag ;o) Very tactless, I think that's why I find myself chuckling every time he posts somewhere -- we have that foot-in-mouth disease in common.

Icon just keeps cracking me up, Tante. I read it with the neighbour from the Incredibles in my head!

OK, you have a point there. I must remember you are a completely well-adjusted individual with only the rare hang-up. ;)

Sorry for misspelling Wamfof. I knew it didn't look right.

Yes, my alter ego is elasti-girl. Just wish I could get these darned arms to stretch properly. Would make mothering a WHOLE lot easier.

Only the rare hang-up, here and there. And over there, oh! and there's one... there's another ;o)

I didn't even notice the typo LOL

I think stretchy arms would make everything easier. Reaching up on those high shelves at the grocery shop for example. Mmm, stretchy limbs. *Looks longingly at Pilates video*

Oh, and the word smut is a bit gross.

*snort* The sad thing for me is that when I see the word smut the first thing I think of is Sorghum head smut, which is a fungal disease that infects the heads of the plants when they're seeding out (http://plantpathology.tamu.edu/Texlab/Grains/Sorghum/sorhs.html) It's nasty. And, as you said, a bit gross. :P

And there you have yet more proof that Julie is a total plant geek, and therefore the perfect woman for Neville Longbottom (if it weren't for the minor facts that he's a fictional character and that I'm madly in love with my husband, that is)

Hehehehe! Oh man, see... I dunno what I think of when I hear the word, but it doesn't have any nice, attractive connotations that make me want to go read a story!

That fungus thing looks nasty :o/ Poor plants.
